Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it lightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir well to ensure even distribution of ingredients.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs lightly. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until everything is well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Use a spatula or wooden spoon to gently fold the mixture together. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay. Overmixing can result in tough muffins.
- Once the batter is just combined, it’s time to get creative! This is where you can add your favorite mix-ins and flavorings
- Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the muffins are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove the muffin tin from the oven and let the muffins cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, enjoy your delicious homemade muffins! They’re perfect for breakfast on the go, a midday snack, or a sweet treat any time of day.
