The exhalation valves we offer are made up of 4 pieces:
- Front half
- Back half
- Rubber gasket
- Brass screen
Valves come with a round plastic template to ensure the correct size hole is cut for your valve.
The brass screen and rubber gasket should be in place when you receive the valves. If they have separated during shipping, simply push the brass screen onto the pin in the bottom half first, then push the gasket onto the pin, so it sits on top of the screen before installation.
How to install exhalation valve:
- Working on a solid, flat surface, place the opaque plastic disk template onto the area of the mask you want to install the valve, making sure there are no wrinkles or folds in the mask where the disk is placed.
- Use a pen or marker to trace around the disk
- Carefully cut out traced circle
- Place back half of valve on a flat surface, gasket side up.
- Line up the hole in the mask with the valve, making sure the fabric lies flat around the lip of the valve.
- Line up front half of valve on top, then press down to snap together, making sure the valve is tightly secured.
